My name is Amanda Neilson.
In addition to a Masters Degree in Social Work, I have 20 years of experience helping youth and adults forge a path of health and wellness through the complex nature of problematic substance use and concurrent disorders.
I work from a trauma informed, harm reduction perspective. This approach understands that people can experience benefits from substance use, that there are many different ways to be successful in change, and that small gains add up over time.
Along with my education and experience as a social worker, I am a trained Child and Youth Worker. I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
